Welcome to Term 2, Week 4!
It’s hard to believe we’re nearly halfway through the term! The last several weeks have been full of exciting learning and experiences.
The weather was definitely on our excursion to the beach. Our students had a fantastic day during their excursion to Alexandra Headland for Surf Skills, building confidence and safety awareness in the water.
In the classroom, students have been diving into Maths using strategies such as partitioning, rounding, and estimating to solve real-world problems. It’s great to see their confidence growing as they explore different ways to approach number tasks. In English, students have begun researching endangered species as the basis for their upcoming informative texts. They are learning to gather and organise facts, and present their findings in a clear and engaging way.
Our Garden of Promise is still growing strong and we need your help! We are currently seeking volunteers to assist with gardening projects, including an exciting task which is creating scarecrows for ‘The Scarecrows’ wedding at the Maleny Show on May 30! We we are hoping for donations including seashells, white feathers, overalls, flannelette shirts, hats, wigs and old shoes. If you’re able to lend a hand and volunteer in our garden or kitchen, please contact the front office. We would love your support.
Our PBL (Positive Behaviour for Learning) focus for the fortnight is on transitioning. Students are learning what safe, respectful, and responsible transitions look like in different settings across the school, from moving between classrooms to arriving on time and settling in for learning.
Lastly, a gentle reminder about the importance of regular school attendance. We’ve noticed a dip in attendance recently, and while we understand that illness and family commitments arise, consistent attendance is vital for student success and connection. Let’s work together to make sure every day counts.
Wishing you all a great week ahead!
