Principal's Report
Welcome Back to Term 4!
Welcome back everyone! I hope you all had a restful break and are ready for a fantastic Term 4. It’s always an exciting and busy time of year, so please keep an eye out each week for what’s happening around the school. Our Facebook page continues to feature the Weekly Cono Connection posts, sharing daily updates and upcoming events to help families stay informed.
I’m really looking forward to celebrating achievement across all areas this term – in the classroom, on the playground, and during special events such as the Swimming Carnival, Year 6 Graduation, and our End of Year Concert.
Staffing Updates
We have a few staffing changes this term:
- Sarah Summers will now be in P/1/2 Wednesday–Friday.
- Melissa Burton will be teaching 3–6 Science and HASS on Tuesdays.
- I’ll be in class on Monday and Tuesday, and at the pool for PE on Wednesday.
Mr Dave will be relieving as a Systems Technician for the rest of the term. We wish him all the best in this new role and will certainly miss having him at Conondale for Term 4.
We also welcome two USC pre-service teachers, Kristin and Georgia, who will be with us for the first four weeks. We hope they enjoy their time at Conondale and gain valuable experience during their placement.
Attendance Matters
Congratulations to all the students who finished Term 3 meeting or exceeding our attendance goal of 92%. What a fantastic effort!
We’ll continue with our weekly attendance draws this term. Students receive a raffle ticket for every day they attend, with random weekly prize draws. Every day really does count – missing even one day a week can make a big difference to learning progress. Thank you for continuing to support your child’s consistent attendance.
Uniform Reminders
As the weather warms up, please make sure students are wearing the correct uniform. Navy blue shorts (with no large logos), a school hat, and a drink bottle are essential every day.
Growing Great Communicators
Each fortnight, we’ll share a short focus on how we teach English at school and simple ways you can support your child’s learning at home. Please take a moment to read the attached article. Together, home and school play a big part in growing great communicators who are confident to read, write, speak, and listen.
Looking Ahead
Finally, I’m especially looking forward to heading off to camp with the Year 3–6 class. Not many people know this, but I actually first got into education because I wanted to work at an outdoor education camp – so this will be one of the highlights of the term for me!
Let’s make Term 4 a memorable one filled with learning, laughter, and celebration.
Warm regards,
Louise Sanderson
