Our whole school approach to literacy! WOW!
Well we've made it to the last week of Term 1. I have really appreciated your support throughout the term with sending notes back, communicating in diaries and helping with homework. It definitely helps make things run a lot smoother in the classroom. I want to wish you all a safe and happy Easter holiday and will see you bright eyed and bushy tailed next term. I will be on long service leave for week one, but will return in week two. Please make Jessica, my replacement, welcome. Take care.

Year 3-6 end of term wrap-up!
As we close out another action-packed term, we want to take a moment to celebrate the fantastic achievements, resilience, and enthusiasm of our students! Well done to everyone for their hard work during assessment time—your efforts and focus have been outstanding. A significant improvement in attendance this term has demonstrated student commitment and dedication to learning at our wonderful school.
This term, the weather certainly put our patience to the test! Unfortunately, the heavy downpours forced us to cancel our volleyball excursion to Montville State School last week, much to everyone’s disappointment. While we can't control the weather, we’re hopeful that next term will bring plenty of sunshine so we can get back to outdoor activities without interruptions.
Fingers crossed for clearer skies ahead! We are lucky to finish the term with a fantastic Surf Skills excursion to Alexandra Headland on Friday, April 4th. Students are looking forward to an amazing time learning surf safety, catching waves, and developing their confidence in the ocean. What a great way to celebrate the end of term!
A huge congratulations to our young chefs for their enthusiasm and teamwork in our Stephanie Alexander Kitchen Garden (SAKG) cooking sessions this term! In the last weeks the menu has featured savoury muffins, refreshing green smoothies, hearty breakfast wraps, and freshly squeezed orange juice—all made from with fresh ingredients from our school garden. A massive thank you to our dedicated volunteers—Emilly, Lawrence, and Kelly—who generously gave their time to help make these sessions such a success. We truly appreciate your support! Come and join us make Rocky Road in our last week of cooking this term. Next term we’re heading out to our Garden of Promise on Friday afternoons.
Our PBL focus for weeks 9 and 10 was
‘I am a learner. I always try my best.’
Learning is all about curiosity, persistence, and effort. Whether you’re solving a tricky problem, practicing a new skill, or overcoming a challenge, giving your best effort helps you grow and improve. Every mistake is a chance to learn, and every success comes from trying, so keep asking questions, exploring new ideas, and striving to do your best every day!
This term, we were excited to welcome Emmy into our classroom. It has been wonderful seeing you settle in and make new friends. We’re so glad to have you as part of our school community!
A huge thank you to all our students, families, and staff for a wonderful term of learning, growth, and fun. We hope you have a relaxing and safe break, and we look forward to another exciting term ahead! Enjoy the holidays!
School resumes on Tuesday, April 22. See you then!
Warm regards,
Miss Vergens
