It is an incredible privilege to serve as the Principal of our wonderful school. Each day, I am reminded of how lucky I am to lead a school community that is so deeply connected, supportive, and committed to the success and wellbeing of our students.
The support I have received from families, staff, students, and the wider community has been truly humbling. Whether it’s a kind word at drop-off, your presence at school events, or your trust in the work we do together, every gesture reinforces how special this place is.
As we move into the final stretch of the term, it’s important to remember that every day counts. With report writing underway and many important learning tasks being completed, consistent attendance is vital.
We also have a full calendar of events leading into the end of term, so I encourage families to keep an eye on upcoming dates and help students be as prepared as possible.
I would like to say a very big thank you to our P&C who worked throughout the week and weekend at Green Park. Your efforts and dedication does not go unnoticed. Thank you also to all the volunteers who helped out at Green Park on the weekend. Your help is very much appreciated.
Together, we’ve already achieved so much, and I look forward to continuing our journey. Thank you for your ongoing support—it’s truly appreciated. I’m excited for what lies ahead as we keep moving forward, together.
Warm regards,
Louise Sanderson
What a journey we've been on in the last fortnight. A trip to Kookaburra Park, assessment wrap ups and adapting to new classroom structures. Everyone loved the guinea pig cuddles and then we did a scavenger hunt for animal facts before heading off on a muddy adventure. Please be patient over the following weeks as our classroom structure is sorted. We will get there for semester 2.
Thank you to all the wonderful volunteers we have had in the kitchen this term. It has been so great to have parents and grandparents come in and help out.
The class also had a visit from our local Lions club on Friday. They gave each child a knitted teddy bear and book. The books are to be read at home and returned and shared around so please remember to bring the book back in and get another title.

Welcome to Term 2, Week 8!
It’s hard to believe there are only three weeks left until the end of Semester 1! The last few weeks have been jam-packed with excursions and assessment, and our students have continued to shine, embracing every challenge with positive attitudes.
One of the highlights was our Leadership Camp last week, which many agree was the most enjoyable and successful one yet. The Year 5/6 students rose to the occasion during the Barambah Challenge, showing resilience, teamwork, and a willingness to push their limits. It was fantastic to see them supporting one another and stepping outside their comfort zones. Of course, no camp is complete without great food, and this year did not disappoint! Students enjoyed hearty lasagna, burgers, pizzas, a healthy roast dinner, and hot breakfasts to fuel them for the day’s activities. Well done to all our students and staff for making the experience so memorable.
Looking ahead, we have even more exciting events on the horizon:
- Conondale Athletics Carnival – This Friday, June 13th, get ready for a great day of competition and school spirit!
- Soccer Gala Day – Happening Thursday, June 20th at Kenilworth. Our teams are looking forward to showcasing their skills on the field.
- Small Schools Athletics (Conondale) – Another big day on Tuesday, June 24th, rounding out an action-packed term.
Our PBL (Positive Behaviour for Learning) focus for the fortnight is: ‘I am respectful. I wear my uniform with pride.’
Students are learning the responsibility of representing Conondale state school positively every day by wearing their uniforms neatly and correctly. Wearing school uniforms with pride demonstrates school spirit and a sense of belonging.
Lastly, a gentle reminder about the importance of regular school attendance. While we understand that illness and family commitments arise, consistent attendance is vital for student success and connection. Let’s work together to make sure every day counts and finish the semester strong!
Wishing you all a great week ahead!
